Artist statement :

I’m attempting to straddle the thin line between Fine art and Street art, while delivering my brand of Symbolism, Neo Expressionism, Graffuturism, Surrealism accompanied by Esoteric principles, which is the goal.
I believe it will shine more light on our connectivity and purpose as a species called Human, as well as the fact most artists involved in this New contemporary movement possess the ability to produce relevant works, and carry contemporary themes while introducing methods of application found on the street.

Bio :

Cedric Umoja has roots in two states ,California and South Carolina. He has been influenced by the likes of Dondi White, Sam Kieth, Max Beckmann, Amedeo Modigliani, Rammellezee and Hans Hoffman. The elements of Graffiti, Modern European art, American art, Comic sequencial art and Japanese manga have played a role in his artistic development and can also be found in his work.Cedric Umoja developed his style under the instruction of Tony Cacalano, a Yale MFA and veteran Fine artist, whose own teachers included Jack Tworkov, one of the founders of the now Famed New York school.
